What is radon?

Radon is a tasteless, odourless and invisible radioactive gas, formed naturally by the decay or uranium. Radon produces radioactive products that when inhaled can eventually cause lung cancer.

Hazards of radon exposure

High radon levels can be extremely hazardous to your health. It can lead to lung cancer which could develop for many years undetected.

How to tell if you are exposed to radon

Radon gas is constantly being released from the earth. In the open it dissipates easily into the atmosphere, however radon gas can penetrate most common building materials and can build up to dangerous levels in buildings. The only way to know if you are exposed is to test.

Radon gas testers to check your limits

There is no set “safe” limit of radon, but if your radon gas levels exceed an annual average of 200 becquerels per metre cubed of air, remedial action should be considered.

Excellent services based in Wellingborough

However, there is no need to panic about your potential radon exposure. You can check your radon levels through our efficient services, using radon gas detectors to test the contamination of radon in your home or business. If it is found to meet or exceed the action level, our trained team will use our radon mitigation systems to reduce the amount of this harmful gas in your home, business or school.
